Xanthoteras pungens, new species

Host: Quercus pungens

Gall: Monothalamous and dome shaped, projected 3-5 mm from upper leaf surface; larval cells basal, with radiating filaments to wall. Adults mature and emerge from late December to mid-January.

Range: TX (El Paso County)
