Gallformers ID Notes

An abrupt swelling of stems at the base of new growth. Hairless, dark red, thick-walled. Leaves branch off the gall and seem to grow normally. Observed in Minnesota in June. No larvae or chambers apparent but likely midge-induced based on comparable galls.
