Gallformers ID Notes

A small, spindle-shaped swelling of a minor lateral vein on Quercus stellata, containing a single cecidomyiid larva occupying the full space of the gall. Resembles larvae of genus Polystepha in some ways but would be the first record of that genus on a white-group oak. Observed in Texas in October.
