Gallformers ID Notes

A large, pink, irregularly globular structure on the stem of Cylindropuntia acanthocarpa ssp. acanthocarpa, apparently composed of many smaller globules and covered in a shiny white fuzz, lending it an overall appearance reminiscent of a fruiting sumac inflorescence. Observed in Arizona in September.
