Juniper Bud Gall Midge
*Walshomiya sp. D

Bud gall appearing in spring on western juniper. Reddish-brown to tan-colored, 4-5mm in diameter, often smaller than nearby berries. Some galls may show a dimple or nipple at the apex. These galls are not elongated like W. juniperina and do not split at the apex upon maturity.
