Meunierella spp.
...
CONNECTICUT...ex Smilax...(1 adult)
...
MASSACHUSETTS...ex Smilax rotundifolia...(4 adults, 1 cocoon with pupal exuviae)
...reared from leaf spots on Smilax rotundifolia L. (Smilacaceae) and Uvularia sessilifolia L. (Colchicaceae) in which the solitary larva was clearly visible through the lower epidermis...R. J. Gagné initially identified the specimens from Smilax as belonging to an undescribed species (which he has also reared), but upon further study he was unable to find any morphological differences between specimens from this host and M. aquilonia Gagné... He is, however, reluctant to accept that they are conspecific until molecular data are available (Gagné 1989 and in litt., 18 August 2024).
